U.S. Made Waterbikes Are The New Rage
It’s time to start thinking about summertime water toys again. And the Schiller S1 Waterbike just might be the ultimate choice.
If you have never heard of “waterbiking,” hang on to you trunks, or bikini, whatever. The Schiller Waterbike is part bicycle, part catamaran, and all fun – with a promise that you can pedal it across nearly any body of water.
Designed, engineered, and built in the USA, the Schiller S1 comes in three bike frame sizes. All of the frames are svelte and lightweight anodized aluminum, and one rotation of the advanced pedal mechanism gives the propeller eight rotations sending you skimming across the water. The S1 comes in an array of colors, with an assortment of accessories, including a water bottle cage, fishing pole holder, and grapnel anchor kit.
Rugged, inflatable pontoons provide portability and maximum rider safety on the water, and the S1 is easy to assemble, transport, and store in a compact space.
The Schiller S1 Waterbike has a base retail price of $4,500, and the upgraded model S1-C has a base retail price of $5,500, for those of you who want to take advantage of carbon fiber technology.

Hubbell Offers Shore Power Cable Set Rebate
Replacing an old shore power cable is one way to make boating safer and more enjoyable, knowing your equipment is in tip-top shape. Hubbell Marine is sweetening the idea of upgrading to its 50 amp, 50-foot cable set by offering a $50 cash rebate.
The promotion is valid on purchases from participating retailers between March 1 and June 30, 2017. Buyers then visit www.marinerebates.com and click on the Hubbell Marine logo for the rebate form.
The Hubbell LED 50-foot cable set features small molded-in LED lights at the female end. Visible even in direct sunlight, a green LED confirms electricity is flowing, while red warns of incorrect wiring at the power source. Hubbell also offers a more economical standard 50 amp cable set without the LED indicators. Both are available in white or yellow. Suggested retail prices are $850 for a standard 50-foot cable set, and $899 for the LED model.
Now might be a good time to also consider upgrading to a new Intelligent Y-Adapter. Have you ever pulled into a marina for the night, to find that it only offers 30 amp power while your boat runs on 50 amps? The YQ230 Intelligent Y-Adapter allows 50 amp vessels to safely connect any 125/250V AC shore power cord to two 30 amp 125V AC dock receptacles. The YQ230’s intelligent circuitry automatically checks the receptacles’ polarity, and confirms that both 30A plugs are fully-engaged, opposite-phased, and operating safely with its integrated power indicator light.
Built in safety features automatically shut power off if an improper wiring condition is detected or if one plug should come loose and not be fully engaged. The YQ230 is housed in a tough, UV and impact resistant casing, and is fully sealed against moisture and humidity. The suggested retail price of the YQ230 Adapter is $399.00.
Hubbell offers a wide variety of adapters to suit marine shore power needs, and all cable sets are UL listed and made in the USA. Hubbell uses fully molded designs and threaded sealing rings to prevent moisture intrusion, with wiring crimp terminations creating tight connections and reliable power delivery. A strain-relief bull ring protects against stress on the conductors, and jute filler provides maximum cord flexibility.
