Second Annual Sausalito Boat Show: Building Community On The Bay

The second annual Sausalito Boat Show brought together the West Coast boating community, driven by local maritime professionals eager to connect the Bay Area with enthusiasts across the region. Despite the sweltering heat, the event was a vibrant showcase of boats, marine services, and local culture on the scenic Sausalito waterfront.

The weekend kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by show promoters Mitch Perkins and Ethan Hirschfeld, joined by Clipper Yacht Harbor’s Ken & KC Pedersen, an encouraging word from the Mayor alongside Sausalito’s city council members, local organizations, and media. Finishing up with Paul Irving from Caltix, bugling “First Call” on his flugelhorn.

Visitors enjoyed an expanded lineup of over 70 boats, from tenders to 90-foot luxury yachts, while more than 50 Bay Area marine businesses filled the onshore tents. Silver Seas, with its standout display, won Best in Show for the second year in a row, and hosted a top-notch VIP event Saturday evening with live music, champagne, and gourmet food.

Local businesses, like H&M Marine, played a key role in the show’s success. Ethan Hirschfeld, along with partners Shane McCormack, Ben Hirschfeld, and the entire H&M crew, worked tirelessly throughout the weekend to ensure everything ran smoothly. Friday’s Waves of Opportunity happy hour, hosted by Helmut’s Marine Service and partners, raised $4,200 for the Canal Alliance, while live music, food trucks, and a dunk tank fundraiser for the Sausalito Nursery School kept attendees entertained. A meet-and-greet with Below Deck stars Daisy and Fraser, hosted by Marquis Charters, was another crowd favorite.

The show thrived on the dedication of Sausalito’s local businesses and volunteers from the Sausalito Yacht Club, led by Ed Shea. Exhibitors and attendees alike praised the show for its community-driven spirit and focus on building industry connections.

The event closed with remarks from Perkins, Hirschfeld, KKMI’s Paul Kaplan, and Erica Deuyour, followed by a symbolic knot-tying ceremony that reinforced the close-knit nature of Sausalito’s marine community. As Perkins remarked, “A new boat show is growing in Sausalito, and it is all about the community, giving back, and growing what we all love.” The Sausalito Boat Show continues to be a celebration of boating and the people who make waterfront life so special.

Spilt second before the ball thrown by Erica Deuyour of KKMI hits its mark; dunking Nadine Urciuoli of Helmut’s Marine.

Next year’s SBS date will be announced soon (www.sausalito boatshow.com), Bay & Delta Yachtsman will again participate and we look forward to seeing you there and maybe even hearing of your next boat purchase. Make sure and stop by the booth to say hello.
