RBYS Introduces Marina Bay Yacht Homes

Richard Boland of Richard Boland Yachts has been in the business of selling new yachts and brokerage boats for nearly 50 years in the Bay Area. Sales have included over 100 new motoryachts from such brands as Viking Yachts, Ocean Yachts from New Jersey, Activa Yachts from China and Riviera Yachts from Australia, as well as the sale of hundreds of brokerage yachts from his office in Alameda.

Prior to his years of selling yachts, Richard was involved in building floating homes (aka “Marina Homes”), of which 50 were built and delivered to the Barnhills Marina in Alameda. To this day, they are still floating and being lived in while moored at various Northern California Bay & Delta locations.

Combining the knowledge of his past project, “Marina Homes” along with his sales experience of present, in 2019 Richard began working on a new plan for a yacht design that would be acceptable to the Bay and Delta area marinas for use as a home, second home or office. The new design was a fully functional power yacht for cruising the Bay, Delta or lakes. Working with a graphic designer the Marina Bay Yacht Home was created.

The standard power will be twin Suzuki Outboards 250hp DF250 Stealth 6 cylinder, four cycle engines with controls and gauges on the upper deck helm. Optional power will be a single Cox 300hp diesel motor or the Vision 180hp electric outboard motor. Bow and stern thrusters are standard with helm controls. An Onan or Westerbeke gas generator will be installed on the aft deck in a soundproof compartment.

Except for furniture, décor items and electronics, the standard equipment list will provide for a vessel ready for inland cruising or living aboard.

Each yacht will be shipped to Svendsen’s Boat Yard in Richmond, CA, or near the customer’s dock. The upper deck parts will be removed for shipping, rails, helm and hardtop will be reinstalled. A sea trial will be run with the new owners to verify that all equipment is properly functioning. RBYS will provide 15 hours of captain training and yacht familiarization with each delivery. The warranty period will be initiated for each component including engines, generator, appliances and all other installed equipment. For the original owner, the vessel will be under an A&M Manufacturing warranty for 12 months and the hull will be under warranty for 5 years for faulty workmanship.

You can visit RBYS at www.marinabayyachts.com for an artist’s concept of the vessels look and to view the one- or two-bedroom floorplans. The actual exterior elevations are available with a standard equipment list by calling Richard Boland direct at 510-610-6213 or by e-mail to rbys@aol.com
