Bombora PFD Designed For Active Watersports

Whether drifting an SUP across a quiet lake or surfing through the ultimate barrel, eventually paddlers and surfers are going to go for a swim. That’s where a Bombora Adventurer or Wanderer PFD comes in. Worn around the waist, it doesn’t get in the way, no matter how extreme the movement. But with a simple tug of the handle, it inflates into a US Coast Guard-approved PFD.

Designed for adults 16 and older, Bombora PFDs fit chest sizes from 30-inches to 46-inches. A quick-release buckle and side adjustment ensure a comfortable fit. They feature a soft, breathable liner for all-weather use, and have a zippered pocket and D-ring attachment perfect for securing keys and small accessories. A video is at bit.ly/BomboraGear

The Bombora Adventurer is a U.S. Coast Guard-approved Type III PFD. Its 24-gram CO2 cylinder instantly inflates a full-size life jacket that provides 25 lbs. of buoyancy. Once deployed, it’s simply slipped over the head; a whistle and manual inflation tube are attached.

The Bombora Wanderer is a U.S. Coast Guard-approved Type V PFD. Using a 16gm CO2 cylinder, it offers 16.5 lbs. of flotation. When deployed, the strap of the bright yellow bag is brought up over the head to the back of the neck.

The Bombora Adventurer costs $140; the Wanderer is $110. Both PFDs are fast and easy to repack with the respective 24gm or 16gm CO2 Rearming Kit that runs $25.

Restoring Stainless Steel Is Quick And Easy With Buff Magic

The term stainless steel is somewhat misleading. Continually exposed to the elements, it eventually oxidizes and may even corrode or rust – especially around saltwater. Thankfully, restoration is quick and easy with Innovation Award-winning Buff Magic and a Shurhold Clean-N-Simple tip.

Most refinishing methods require a series of progressively finer grit compounds that are laboriously applied and wiped off one at a time. A true one-step product, Buff Magic contains a unique jeweler’s rouge that breaks down as it’s used. The formula starts with an aggressive abrasiveness that quickly removes surface oxidation and rust, yet transforms into a creamy paste that is gentle enough to polish easily-scratched materials like Plexiglas.

A 22 oz. jar of Shurhold Buff Magic Compound costs $29.98; a 64 oz. container is $66.98. Serious Shine Quick Detailer runs $17.98 for a 14 oz. aerosol can.

Dedicated to educating boat owners, Shurhold provides key tips for boat value preservation at www.shurhold.com. Inventor of the One Handle Does It All system, Shurhold manufactures specialty care items and accessories to clean, polish and detail.

Ritchie Explorer F-50 Compass Perfect For Smaller Boats

Many owners consider a compass superfluous aboard a small boat, until a fog rolls in or the sun sets. For them, the affordable Explorer Flush-Mount F-50 from Ritchie Navigation is ideal. Compactly sized for skiffs, small dual and center consoles, pontoons and sailboats, it provides the critical information needed to safely return to shore no matter the weather or light.

The Explorer F-50 draws on Ritchie’s 160 years of compass-making experience. Built in the USA, it has an easy-to-read 2.75-inch black or white dial set on a hardened steel pivot movement with a scientifically-matched sapphire jewel. Powerful DirectForce™ Magnets provide a fast and smooth heading lock-on, even in choppy water. Built-in compensators adjust for deviation, making it ideal for use on an aluminum boat or around metal components.

The Ritchie Explorer F-50 surface mounts into a 3.75-inch hole and requires only 2.2-inch of depth and three screws. It’s 100% repairable, comes with a five-year warranty and costs $77.45.
