Oversized Pull-Up Cleats Make Replacement Easy
With Wide-Line Cleats from Accon Marine, it’s simple for owners to upgrade to the convenience of low-profile pull-up hardware. The slightly oversized flanged base covers old holes and rough cutout edges left behind from previous hardware to improve the boat’s overall sleek topside profile.
Accon Wide-Line Cleats are made from polished marine-grade 316 stainless steel and manufactured to precise dimensions. Cleat horns easily pull up from the base smoothly and without play and depress back for a clean, snag-free appearance. They’re offered in four sizes: 4.5-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch, for .375-inch, .625-inch, .75-inch and 1-inch line, respectively.
Installation is simple, needing only two center holes and a single saw cut. Bottom mounted hardware integrates welded stainless steel threaded studs for strength and a clean topside finish. An included .125-inch thick backing plate doubles as a cut-out template.
Suggested retail prices for Accon Marine 305 series Wide-Line Cleats are $93.87 for the 4.5-inchmodel, $106.96 for the 6-inch version, $168.94 for the 8-inch cleat and $263.27 for the 10-inch model. Optional waterproofing cups that prevent runoff below deck start at $5.71.

Trash? Laundry? Give It All To Seasucker
Boaters who care about the environment find trash blowing into the water unacceptable. But that’s often the unintentional result of using a makeshift garbage bag. The new Basking Bag from SeaSucker is a well-considered solution for securing everything from trash to dirty laundry. And because it’s not permanently installed, it can be mounted in seconds wherever it’s needed – above or below deck or even outside on the hull.
Made in the USA, the Basking Bag uses SeaSucker’s innovative Vacuum Mount technology. Unlike an industrial suction cup that quickly loses holding power, SeaSucker’s 4.5-inch mount can hold up to 120 lbs. indefinitely. That’s more than enough for a load of beer bottles or wet beach towels.
The Basking Bag’s unique closure mechanism secures its contents no matter how choppy the water, but still opens easily with a convenient pull ring. Made from marine-grade UV-stabilized polymer with stainless steel hardware, the device is built for year-round outdoor exposure.
SeaSucker offers its black Basking Bag in two versions. Both Standard and Premium models measure 27.5-inches L x 18.5-inches W x 6-inches D. The deluxe Premium unit uses a more tightly-woven material than the Standard’s mesh bag. They cost $165 and $179 respectively.

Buff Magic: The Go-To Compound For Restoring Boats
Every marina has boats that are carefully maintained from bow to stern by pro detailers and experienced DIYers. To achieve their stunning results, most rely on premium-quality professional-grade products. So, when it’s time to give new life to a faded, tired-looking hull and deck, their go-to product is often Shurhold Buff Magic Surface Reconditioner & Metal Polish.
Made in the USA, Buff Magic’s unique formula actually breaks down as it’s applied. Its abrasive particles become ever finer, to take the surface from dull to ultra-glossy. The easy-to-apply paste removes oxidation, staining, surface rust, tarnish, and P800 and finer DA and Plexiglass scratches. In addition to gelcoat and paint, it’s also the ideal cleaner and polisher for stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, gold and other precious metals.
A small amount of Buff Magic is applied with a damp cloth and hand-buffed until a residue appears. It has no fillers, so using less product is more effective. A second buffing with a soft microfiber cloth is next. Shurhold’s Dual Action Polisher with a twisted wool pad used with light pressure will shorten work time. Once the surface shines, it should be sealed with a high-quality protectant such as Shurhold Pro Polish Wax.
Beyond the boat, Buff Magic is ideal for restoring RV and car finishes, and hazy automotive headlights. Around the home, it’s great for stainless steel grills and appliances, and acrylic tubs and showers.
A 22 oz. jar of Shurhold Buff Magic Surface Reconditioner & Metal Polish, sufficient for a boat up to 35 feet with average oxidation, costs $37.55. A 64 oz. jar covers 35-foot to 60-foot vessels and is $79.67. For larger projects, a 10 lb. pail is offered for $186.71.
Inventor of the One-Handle-Does-It-All-System, Shurhold is the leading manufacturer of professional-grade detailing supplies that help clean, polish and protect vessels. Dedicated to educating boat owners, Shurhold provides key tips for boat value preservation at www.shurhold.com

Carbon Fiber Wheel Adds Bold, Luxurious Panache
Few materials can deliver the strength, style and leading-edge performance of carbon fiber. That’s why Schmitt Marine chose this high-tech composite for its Primus CF marine steering wheel. With its woven pattern and glossy finish, a bold, yet luxurious, panache can be added to any boat dash or console.
The three-spoke, 13.5-inch Primus CF is designed for all-day comfort. Its ergonomic 1.125-inch dia. rim features Santoprene rubber inserts on the back side of the rim that reduce hand fatigue and improve grip when conditions get wet.
For easy one-handed use, the Primus CF has an integrated carbon fiber control knob. Glass ball bearings ensure smooth operation and are virtually maintenance-free.
Equally ideal for OEM or refit, the Primus CF has a .75-inch tapered hub. The matching carbon fiber-encased center nut comes with stainless steel adapters for use with .625-inch, .5-inch and 12mm thread sizes.
For improved safety, the fiberglass backbone of the wheel disperses energy under impact. It’s NMMA Type Accepted to meet ABYC standards and is CE certified. For pricing and availability of the Schmitt Marine Primus CF steering wheel with control knob (7461321FGK-CFN), contact the manufacturer.
