Premium Grab Rails Install Virtually Anywhere
Many boats have that one ideal spot that’s comfortable and has a great view, but nothing to hold onto when seas get rough. The solution is to add a Schmitt Marine 9-inch Grab Rail. Offered in top- and under-mount versions, they offer OEMs and DIYers a simple way to add luxurious yet practical grab hardware to virtually any onboard location.
Schmitt Marine Grab Rails are manufactured from 316 cast stainless steel polished to a mirror-like finish. A black Santoprene insert has the appearance of perforated leather. Tough and abrasion-resistant, the rubber provides a solid, comfortable handgrip, even when wet. The Grab Rails match any marine décor, whether classic or contemporary. Custom insert colors are available to OEMs.
Installation of the Top Mount Grab Rail is through flaps in the rubber insert that lift and provide access for .25-inch 20 screws. The Under Mount model installs from below using threaded studs. Once in place, all hardware is completely hidden for a custom-finished appearance. Schmitt Marine Grab Rails have a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel and three years on the grip.

New Compact Spreader Lights Deliver Massive Light
Having a well-lit deck makes running a boat at night safer, but too much glaring light can reduce night vision. That’s what makes Shadow-Caster’s new NMEA 2000-ready SCM Series of Spreader Lights so ideal. They’ll pump out 3,000 lumens of bright, crisp white light when needed, but can be dimmed through a multifunction display connected to a Shadow-NET control module or via a standard switch.
The SCM Series is offered in Bracket Mount and Flush Mount configurations. Both provide a 60° beam angle of 6200 Kelvin cool white light. Soft-start technology gradually increases brightness to the desired level, activated either by toggling the power source or selecting the lamp through a Shadow-Caster lighting controller, like the award-winning Light Commander. While delivering a massive 3,000 lumens, a single SCM Spreader Light draws only 20W/1.5A with a 10-30V input.
The IP67 rugged waterproof aluminum housing is available in black or white. Inside, the lamp has a unique reflector design that evenly spreads the light beams to avoid annoying glare.
The SCM Flush Mount version measures 5 inches x 1.7 inches x 1.6 inches, making it perfect for use in T-tops, radome arches and similar components. The Bracket Mount Spreader Light is 4.25 inches x 1.6 inches x 2.8 inches and has an angle adjustable 316 stainless steel bracket that’s ideal for retrofitting an existing installation. A 3-foot submersible power cable makes wiring the lights for power and NMEA 2000 networking simple.
The Shadow-Caster Bracket Mount (SCM-SLB4X) Spreader Light costs $209.99; the Flush Mount (SCM-SLF4X) version is $189.99.

Eww, Look At That Stain. Grab The Moldaway
Even the cleanest boats have mold, mildew and algae lurking in the corners. That’s why pro marine detailers grab Shurhold Moldaway when tackling tough stains. The oxygenated formula cleans and renews a wide range of surfaces without the harsh chemicals that alter colors and deteriorate materials.
Made in the USA, Moldaway contains no bleach or chlorine, so it’s safe to use on vinyl, canvas, plastic, carpeting, interior and exterior cushions, sails and wood. It removes mold, mildew, algae, dirt, blood, and food and drink stains without scrubbing.
Using Moldaway is easy. One scoop of the highly concentrated powder is mixed thoroughly into a quart of warm water and will remain effective for 10 hours. The solution is sponged or brushed onto a cool surface. After standing damp with the mixture for 10 minutes, it’s rinsed with clean water. For extremely soiled areas, it can soak longer. Because it’s biodegradable, it can be disposed of without fear of polluting. A 12 oz. jar of Shurhold Moldaway costs $16.98.

Iosso Water Repellant Now Even Safer
Long considered the go-to product for protecting outdoor fabrics against water, dirt, grime and environmental contaminants, Iosso Premium Water Repellent is now PFAS-free. And while still having excellent oil resistance properties, it has now been enhanced with UV inhibitors, benefiting owners and fabricators alike.
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are toxic “forever chemicals” that build up in a body and are often linked with a myriad of human diseases. Premium Water Repellent doesn’t contain solvents or silicone that alter fabric color, finish or breathability. And with new oleophobic properties, oils and lubricants won’t accidentally darken textiles.
Iosso Premium Water Repellent is equally effective on canvas and laminated and coated solution-dyed acrylics. Simple to use, the formula is applied to the clean, dry fabric to the point of saturation and allowed to dry. Once the item has dried for 24 hours, it can be exposed to water.
A 32 oz. bottle covers approximately 40 sq. ft. while the one-gallon size covers up to 150 sq. ft. Prices start at $49.95.
