A Thirsty-Mate Manual Pump Is A Necessity Onboard
Having a quality manual pump onboard is a necessity, whether for removing excess bilge water at the end of a season or bailing in an emergency, especially when the power is out. Made in the USA, Beckson Marine self-priming THIRSTY-MATE® 124 and 136 series hand pumps provide up to 13 gpm of flow with minimal stroking.
All THIRSTY-MATE hand pumps are manufactured of the finest non-rusting, non-corroding polyvinyl that’s solvent-welded for dependable, long-lasting use. If bumped, they won’t mar fine boat finishes. Nor will they cause a spark – an essential consideration when fuel is present. They’re self-lubricating and easy to clean, with a removable foot valve. Beckson’s unique contoured red T-handle is comfortable and easy to see in dark areas. An angled top sleeve dispenses water with aplomb and makes attaching optional flexible hoses simple.
Ideal for smaller boats with limited storage, the THIRSTY-MATE model 124P measures 24-inches L x 1.75-inches dia. With six strokes, it moves 10 gpm. Version 124PF adds a 2-foot flexible hose and 124PF6 comes with a 6-foot section.
For more volume, the THIRSTY-MATE 136P has a 13 gpm capacity, with only four strokes needed. It measures 36-inches L x 1.75-inches dia. and is available as model 136PF with a 3-foot flexible hose and 136PF6 with a 6-foot section.

Kits Simplify Boat Cleaning Tool Selection

Compact Ritchie Compass Conquers Rough Seas
The SuperSport Helmsman 1002 from Ritchie Navigation is one tough compass. Tested on offshore racing boats, it’s loaded with features that soften card movement during rough seas and increase its longevity.
Ritchie’s space-saving 3.75-inch SuperSport Helmsman 1002 has a bright blue card with large, high-visibility white numbers and bearing marks. A yellow lubber line contrasts sharply for easy reading. It has an integrated sun shield and built-in 12V green LED lighting.
The compass has Ritchie’s exclusive PowerDamp technology to prevent oscillation and large DirectiveForce™ magnets to lock onto direction without undue card movement. Extra-large hardened steel pivots with jeweled bearings on the SuperSport Helmsman 1002’s internal gimbal system deliver silky-smooth operation. Built-in compensators make adjusting for deviation easy and expand potential mounting locations.
Straightforward to install, the base of the Ritchie SuperSport Helmsman 1002 is 5.2-inches W x 5.1-inches D. It requires a standard 4-inch mounting hole and 2.2-inchclearance below. The compass includes all necessary hardware.
