For Glowing Teak, Nothing Beats The Tip Top System

Even small teak trim pieces can elevate a boat’s feeling of luxury and may help command higher resale values – but only if kept in pristine condition. With the Tip Top Teak® range of products from Sudbury Boat Care Products, it’s easy to restore and protect the wood’s natural golden glow without a lot of elbow grease.

The process begins with cleaning the wood. The Tip Top Teak Two-Part Cleaner kit chemically removes stains, mildew and grayness with Part A. Then, Part B neutralizes the process to bring out the natural color and grain. The kit comes with two sturdy scrub brushes.

For large deck areas, especially those that have endured wear and weathering, Crystal Deck Cleaner is ideal. It’s a concentrated formula that’s mixed with water to achieve the same pleasing results as the two-part product.

Once clean, the next step is to enhance the wood’s natural beauty using Tip Top Teak Brightener. The formula contains no bleach and won’t raise the grain. It deep cleans the teak, preparing it for the final step.

For the final finish, Tip Top Teak Wood-Oil Sealer adds luster to the wood. The easy-to-use formula seals and protects the teak and keeps it looking its best for months.

The Tip Top Teak Two-Part Cleaner Kit from Sudbury Boat Care Products contains two 32 fl. oz. or 128 fl. oz. bottles and starts at $41.11; Parts A and B are available separately. Crystal Deck Cleaner is available in 32 fl. oz. or 64 fl. oz. sizes and costs $31.10 and $59.50, respectively. Teak Brightener comes in a 32 fl. oz. container and runs $19.99. Tip Top Teak Wood-Oil Sealer is $26.99 for 32 fl. oz. and $70.99 for 128 fl. oz.

Innovative VL Flex 52 Gauge Now Offered In White

Round gauges have come a long way from simple needles showing a single readout. Today’s modern alternative is the VL Flex 52 from Veratron. Simple to install, the innovative 2-inch round color instrument can be programmed to display up to 22 sets of data from a wide range of onboard sensors. It’s perfect for refitting boats with existing holes in the dash or for OEMs desiring a convenient and cost-effective upgrade to a model with limited console space. And now, the VL Flex 52 is available in white.

Highly adaptable, the VL Flex 52 instrument will display analog sensor data such as engine RPM, temperature, pressure and speed, tank levels, and rudder and trim position. Connected digitally, the VL Flex 52 gauge supports NMEA2000® or SAEJ1939 through CAN ports, NFC contactless sensors and LIN networks for use with Veratron products like its award-winning Intelligent Battery Sensor.

While technologically advanced, the VL Flex 52 is surprisingly simple to set up with Veratron’s Android or iOS companion app. With an embedded passive NFC receiver, the mobile device is tapped against the instrument to connect. This is especially valuable to OEMs who can quickly pre-configure multiple devices prior to installation and have them working immediately. Plus, because each gauge is capable of displaying up to 22 data sets, an array of multiple VL Flex 52 instruments can provide an astounding amount of information in a small space.

Veratron’s VL Flex 52 is available in black or white with nine different styling rings available. An optional cockpit bracket expands the instrument’s adaptability, allowing it to be installed on a horizontal surface. The VL Flex 52 is offered as a configurable gauge or bundled as a 12V or 24V kit with Veratron’s Intelligent Battery Monitor. Prices start at $130.99.

From Dull To Vibrant Fiberglass In One Easy Step

Gelcoat, the shiny outer layer of fiberglass, becomes porous as it ages, making it a magnet for dirt and stains. Fortunately, there’s Fiberglass Powder Cleaner & Stain Remover from BoatLIFE. The biodegradable formula is simple to use without needing a lot of elbow grease, yet delivers showroom-quality results.

Made in the USA, Fiberglass Powder Cleaner & Stain Remover is a powerful cleaner that won’t scratch delicate finishes. Ideal for textured and non-skid surfaces, it helps in the removal of oxidation, dirt, rust spots, waterline scum, scuff marks, black streaks and other tough marine stains.

After washing the boat surface to remove dust and dirt, the powdered formula is sprinkled on and worked with a sponge or scrub brush. It can be rinsed with fresh or saltwater. Once dry, the cleaned section is ready for waxing. A video is viewable at www.youtube.com/watch?v=47cIvWSO5lQ. A 26 oz. container of BoatLIFE Fiberglass Powder Cleaner & Stain Remover costs $20.38; 64 oz. is $41.61.
