New To The Delta: Marine Sales Team

Paul Otis joined Peter Moore and Nina Ankelé at Delta Marine Sales’ Willow Berm Marina location. Paul, having completed his training and passed the Division of Boating and Waterways state exams is ready to assist his clients with the selling or purchasing of their boats.

Paul, and Kelly his wife of nearly 30 years have been boaters since 1990 when they first discovered the Delta. Paul has owned and operated a variety of different pleasure boats over the years, from his first 21-foot cuddy cabin to a 66-foot houseboat, to his current Sea Ray 400 Sundancer, Soggy Dollar berthed at Willow Berm Marina on Brannan Island.

Newest salesperson at Delta Marine Sales Willow Berm Marina location, Paul Otis.

Paul spent the past 30 successful career years in commercial construction management in the Silicon Valley, but during the past year he had been looking for a new adventure. During his boating on the Delta, he has had several positive experiences with the owner of Delta Marine Sales & Services, Tony Faso and salesman Peter Moore. When an opportunity recently presented itself for him to join the team, Paul jumped in with both feet. Selling their home in San Ramon, Paul and Kelly relocated to Rio Vista and he started working with Delta Marine Sales in September under a temporary salesman’s license. Now as a licensed yacht salesman, Paul is under the mentorship of Peter Moore and is very excited about learning all the aspects of yacht sales and connecting people with their dream vessel.

When asked, Paul’s thoughts on joining Delta Marine Sales are simple, “I love to be around boats, look at boats, talk about boats and learn about boats, so this is a dream job for me. Delta Marine Sales is a class outfit, and everybody here has been extremely welcoming, and I am excited to start this next chapter of my career in a job that is so enjoyable that it never really feels like work. I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

We wish Paul the best in his newest venture. Should you happen to be at Willow Berm Marina, please make your acquaintance. Paul, you will find out soon enough is one of the good guys. If you would like to reach the Willow Berm Sales staff, you can do so at 916-777-6559.

Northern California Spring Boat Show

It is with much regret that we must pass on that the CYBA Board of Directors have decided to move the date of the new California Yacht Brokers Association Pacific Sail & Power Boat Show to a date in the fall of 2022. They made this difficult decision based on the feedback they received from their membership that they do not have the standing inventory, new or used, given the current stimulated market and long lead times for new boat deliveries. The goal now is to deliver the best edition of the NEW CYBA Pacific Sail and Power Boat Show that serves its members, vendors and boating community in the fall. We are told the additional time will help meet this goal. Executive Director of the CYBA Don Abbott thanks everyone for their continued support for this new event and will keep us posted on any new developments as they arrive. Visit www.cyba.info for the new show dates as they become available or any other CYBA news that may be of interest to you.

More From Delta: Marine Sales & Services

Delta Marine Sales & Services in Stockton has always been a hot spot when it came to boat/yacht sales and repair. However, this past year has proved to be even more so. With all the busy operations that take place there it came to their attention that a day-to-day operations manager was in order. Meet Jodi Delfino, who is not only one of the newest members of Delta Marine Yacht Center in Stockton, but also officially the director of operations. Her duties include, but are not limited to, working closely with Tony Faso in the business and office operations, assisting Mike Garner and the sales team in updating and streamlining some of the sales operations and helping to support the hiring and human relations department of new employees. As time goes on Jodi looks forward to her role continuing to expand based upon the demands as they develop.

The Director of Operations at Delta Marine Yacht Center, Jodi Delfino.

Jodi has an AA in Family & Consumer Sciences and worked in management for the past 19 years. Her career started in banking, but her love of children brought her to early childhood education. She managed for 19 years in various roles until it was decided that it was time for a change.

Jodi grew up in Thornton, CA and is the oldest of seven (three sisters and three brothers). Her roots in the Delta have been long, but something that most may not know that ties her even deeper is that the restaurant in Walnut Grove called Wimpy’s was originally owned by her grandfather “Wimpy.” Unfortunately, her grandparents sold the business before she was born. However, as an adult she has enjoyed many dinners there and has had countless conversations with her grandmother where she has shared the history of Wimpy’s.

Jodi has been married for 17 years, has three stepchildren and three grandchildren. She and her husband live in Tracy, CA with their dog Molly and cat Chloe. Her hobbies include boating, camping, NASCAR, photography and most importantly spending time with all of her family and friends.

Jodi is extremely excited to be a part of the team there at Delta Marine Sales and looks forward to this newest journey. We here at Bay & Delta Yachtsman wish her the best.
