New JBL Marine Stereo Has Bold, Fresh Look
Engineered for outdoor audio performance and built to withstand a harsh marine environment, the mechless source unit delivers immersive, audiophile-quality sound.
The large, full-color 4-inch LCD screen on the WAKE JBL-R4500 displays an easy-to-use layout with bold iconography. Controlled by a raised five-way push button and large rotary tuner, navigation is fast and intuitive. It’s NMEA 2000-ready for quick integration into an existing network. It’s also wired for easy connection to an Infinity INF-REM1 or Milennia MIL-REM80 remote.
Engineered to master AM/FM and weather band tuning, the WAKE JBL-R4500 features exceptionally fast Bluetooth® BT5.0 with ID streaming and over 100-foot connectivity. Aux-in and USB with charging inputs provide a wide range of playback options. Dimmable lighting delivers readability in any setting.
Because the WAKE JBL-R4500 was designed for outdoor use, it’s not shy of volume. The built-in amplifier blasts 4×55 peak @ 4 ohms. But even with the tunes cranked, sound reproduction is clean and accurate.
Two-ohm stable, the WAKE JBL-R4500 will power up to eight 4-ohm speakers without an additional amplifier. Three sets of line level differentials will control left, right and sub for each zone.
The IPX7 weatherproof WAKE JBL-R4500 can be flush- or back-mounted. The faceplate is 6.438-inches L x 3-inches W and .375-inches D; the chassis measures 4.25-inches D x 5.125-inches W x 2-inches H. If flush mounted, the optional silicone rubber UV cover protects the stereo. Available from ProSpec Electronics, the WAKE JBL-R4500 costs $469.95; the UV cover (MProY1000WPC) is $24.95.

Lifting Cleats Deliver Simplicity, Convenience
Boat decks bristling with hardware can appear cluttered and confusing to both experienced boat owners and first-time buyers alike. Combination mooring and lifting cleats from Accon Marine reduce the number of devices on deck, help streamline vessel appearance and simplify everyday operation.
Accon Marine 209 Series Lifting Cleats deliver exceptional strength and durability in a compact, fully-retractable design that’s easy to install. Available in 4.5-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch sizes to suit a wide range of boats, they pull up for use and recess to be flush with the deck when not needed. All are screw-mount configurations, with the 8-inch and 10-inch models also available in stud-mount.
When used in conjunction with the supplied 304 stainless steel bow eye, connecting rod, sling and crossbar, Accon Marine 209 Series cleats double as lifting hardware with a working load capacity to 4,000 lbs. A 12-inch rod comes standard, with custom lengths available. An optional 209-PA pivot attachment facilitates tricky installations by allowing for alignment variations of up to 10 degrees from vertical.
MSRP for Accon Marine 209 Series Lifting Cleats starts at $260.85. The 209-PA pivot attachment is priced at $93.80.
Polymer-Based Boat Wax Contains No Messy Fillers
Caused by fillers in the product, many waxes leave behind a white chalky residue that needs to be wiped off after buffing. Not only is this a waste of material, but it adds time to a detailing project – especially when the powder finds its way into small crevices. With Shurhold, boat owners can quickly achieve a showroom-like finish without the added hassle of cleaning up filler residue.
Pro Polish Wax & Sealant is a polymer-based formula that uses only cosmetic-grade ingredients. Because it doesn’t contain abrasive fillers such as talc, it applies easily and won’t damage the boat’s surface. Once buffed to a high sheen by hand or machine, it provides a hard, durable finish with excellent water beading properties and long-lasting protection against UV oxidation, salt, dirt, acid rain and environmental soiling. It’s ideal for gelcoat, paint, clear coat, vinyl graphics, stainless steel and aluminum. A 16 oz. bottle of Shurhold Pro Polish Wax & Sealant costs $19.98; a one-gallon container is $94.98.
